Site Seeing

Today was site seeing. It was so much fun. We had lunch after we picked up my jeans. Lunch was in Millennium park. After lunch Jerri walked me all around Millennium Park. The park has some of the nicest gardens. It also has really cool fountains. The park also has the bean which is a 3d mirror in a shape of a bean. You can see the whole city from the bean. We also saw this really cool outdoor theater. The theater was really big. Then we saw Buckingham fountain. This fountain is really cool and big. Then we went to Navy Pier to see fireworks. We went on a boat called the Seadog to the fireworks. The fireworks were fantastic. We could see the whole city and the fireworks at the same time. This was such a fun day.

Ikram and Scoop

Yesterday we went to scoop and Ikram. they are both very expensive. Scoop has the coolest shopping bags ever. I got a hot pink one. Scoop had a lot of designers that I had herd of. Ikram was amazing. Nothing was under 500 dollars. The Jason Wu stuff was amazing. All of the things in the store were breath taking. It turns out that the store owner is very good friends with Jason Wu. If you ever go to Chicago you have to go to both of these stores. It was so much fun to look at all of the things.

Staying with Mommies friend

I can not wait to go visit Mommies friend in Chicago. When I was younger we lived in Chicago and my mom had a friend named Jerri and when ever she came over that meant my mom would leave me leave to hang out with Jerri. So from then on called Jerri mommies friend. When I was younger I did not like her at all. Now I love Jerri and can not wait to see her. She is no longer a bad person. From my mom's great relationship with Jerri I now get to go spend a whole six days with her. Jerri makes the best waffles and will french braid my hair. I can not wait. We are also going to go downtown. Thank you so much Jerri for letting me stay with you and your great family.

Books about shopping

I have just realized that when you read a book about people who like to shop, they are most likely in debt. I wish that there were more books out about shoe, bags, fashion, shopping etc. I wish that the books were also not so romantic. I do not enjoy reading books that talk about sex. The books that I have read about fashion are Confessions of A Shopaholic, Summer at Tiffany, Shopaholic takes Manhattan, Shopaholic ties the Knot and Just Try It On. All of the shopaholic books are about being in debt and not paying off the debt. I am not saying that these books are bad because they are very good book. These books were the books that got me liking reading. The other books were very good. I liked them because they were different then most books.

Fun Fact # 1

"Did you know that $1 out of every $4 spent on a handbag or other accessory in the U.S. is spent on a Coach product!" Instyle magazine(July 2009).

All about me

My name is Annie. As you can tell I like fashion and the color pink but that is not all of me. I am a very interesting person I like to hang out with my friends, volunteer at church and I love to hang out with my family. I love going on vacations with my family. My favorite place that I have been to would have to be Austraila, New York City, Park City, and Chicago.

My Favorite Fashion Desgner is Jason Wu

From doll costumes to presidential gowns, Jason Wu designs them all. One of the reasons that I chose Jason Wu is because he was not very well known until Michelle Obama choose to wear his gown for the Inauguration. Another reason I choose Jason Wu is because he is young, new, and has an interesting background.

Jason Wu’s background is not like most designers. Wu is 26 years old and grew up in Tokyo, Japan. When he was only 9 years old he was learning how to sew, draft patterns and sketch. Wu would stand out side of the wedding stores and sketch the dresses on display in the windows when he was younger. Jason Wu would also use dolls instead of mannequins. At the age of 14 Wu started studying sculpture in Tokyo, Japan. Wu spent his senior year of high school in Paris, where he decided that he wanted to become a fashion designer. Jason Wu trained at the school called Parsons School of Design in New York City.

At the age of 16, Wu started designing dolls similar to Barbie’s except much nicer. The dolls are collection dolls which he designs for Integrity Toys. He has been working for Integrity toys for ten years and has made his way up to be the full time Creative Director for the company. The dolls are sold at FAO Schwarz. The dolls prices run from about $100-$150.

At the age of 26 Jason Wu is the luckiest designer in the world because the First Lady Michelle Obama wore his dress for the 44th Inaugural Ball. Wu did not know that Mrs. Obama was going to wear his dress, but found out like the rest of the world did. Jason Wu was sitting in front of his TV eating pizza when he saw Michelle Obama walk out wearing his white dress with one sleeve. The dress that Wu designed will be on display in the Smithsonian a museum in Washington DC. In 2006 Jason Wu debuted his collection becoming one of the leading new American designers. Wu has received awards such as Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award for women’s Ready to Wear in January 2008.

Jason Wu’s hallmarks would be that he mainly makes skirts and dresses. Wu likes to emphasize the female hourglass. He combines the modern lifestyle with couture details. Jason Wu’s main trademark would be the dress that he designed for Michelle Obama.

The people that buy Jason Wu’s clothing would be mostly women. Wu has not yet created a men’s line. The women that buy Jason Wu’s clothes are typically in the upper class because his clothing is very expensive. The age group that buys his clothes ranges from women in their 30’s tall the way up to their 50’s although, any age group can wear Jason Wu’s designs because there is no distinct age for what he creates.

Jason Wu is a very interesting and young designer. Jason Wu is not very well known but after Michelle Obama wore Wu’s dress he became a little bit more famous. He is a great upcoming designer. I think that in the next five to ten years he will be very famous.
